Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World

Comming on: August 28, 2025
As I said, we are starting off light, as this game is essentially a Switch 2 upgrade with additional DLC. Kirby and the Forgotten Land was Nintendo’s fairly successful attempt to give the Kirby mainline series the Mario Odyssey treatment, and you know what—it worked. The base Switch 1 game plays really well and is super fun, even though it lacks some challenge. It’s a great addition to the Kirby series, but it didn’t reach the highs of something like Mario’s Odyssey. The DLC included with the upgrade pack looks very interesting, mainly focusing on the new map that looks like some sort of crystal islands. Personally, I haven’t played Forgotten Land yet, since the last Kirby game I played was Kirby: Planet Robobot, and I think that’s a really hard game to beat, even though it’s two generations old. I’ll definitely give it a try if there’s enough interest in a fully fledged review.
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

Comming on: September 5, 2025
As a big fan of the first game, and as a fan of Giant Robots and Mechas, this game is very high on my radar. I’ve only played the Demo for the first game, but oh boy, it felt so good. This game has the potential to steal all my spare time. The Graphics look stunning, and if it controls as well as the first one, this game will be Armored Core 6: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (with a much deeper Story and Themes, of course). The Demo for this one is already out, and I can’t wait to get my grubby hands on it. All you need to know is Armored Core meets Gundam and if that doesn’t attract you, I don’t know what will.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Switch 2 Edition

Comming on: October 16, 2025
Now this game I’m excited for. Pokémon Legends Z-A is essentially a rebrand and a whole series revamp in terms of gameplay. Gone are the turn based waiting sessions and lifeless Pokémon. With this upcoming franchise refresh, they are bringing heat literally. I don’t know how the last-gen Switches will handle this one, as yes, it is a cross gen release, but even so, they are releasing two different versions: a Nintendo Switch 1 version and an NS2 version, the latter including graphical enhancements and 60 FPS. The gameplay is reminiscent of Legends: Arceus combined with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. I’m going to pick up this game on the day of release and will write a comprehensive first impressions review. Overall, if the demos and the Direct aren’t lying, this game will be pure fire.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Comming on: Q4 2025
boy, I am excited! The game currently doesn’t have an official release date, but it is slated for late 2025 and will probably release for the holidays I’m predicting December 18.
Now, to the gameplay. The game was featured heavily at the Nintendo Switch 2 event, and from the footage I’ve seen, it looks stunning! The gameplay is very reminiscent of old Metroid games, with so many quality of life improvements. Not to mention, this is the first known Nintendo Switch 2 game to support 120 Hz and seamless mouse-to-controller controls.
In this game, you will follow Samus on her journey through a hostile planet full of nasty creatures wanting to erase you from existence and oh boy, I can’t wait to shoot my way through them.
Hollow Knight: Silksong

Comming on: September 5, 2025
This game spent so long in the oven, I really hope it’s not burned. Silksong is the continuation of the critically acclaimed Hollow Knight, a Metroidvania set in a dystopian bug underground world, blending beautiful visuals and intense combat. I’m convinced that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be a contender for Game of the Year, as it has been anticipated for the better part of half a decade. I really hope that the Hollow Knight team doesn’t disappoint, as there are millions of fans wanting to scratch that Hollow Knight itch with new abilities, new Story, more Darkness, and oh so much more Beauty. I really can’t wait to play it.
Borderlands 4

Comming on: October 4, 2025
Man! It’s surreal to see Nintendo Switch 2 get a day-one release of a triple A cross platform game. I’m very excited for the carnage of Borderlands 4! I loved the third game and played through the first fistful of missions with my dad in co-op. I sincerely hope they’ll include couch co-op mode, as that’s what makes Borderlands so good! In general, it is a very fun looter shooter, but the option for couch co-op makes it so much better. I am expecting great things from this game, and I know it won’t disappoint.
Kirby Air Riders

Comming on: November 20, 2025
When I first heard that this game is releasing this year, I was very confused, as we already got our flagship cart racer, aka Mario Kart World, but… the Nintendo Direct completely changed my mind. The game looks awesome. It’s essentially Mario Kart meets a combat game. The driving itself seems a lot simpler than other racers, but every single character has its own Abilities that you can use to disable Opponents, and every single character can Vacuum up items to change their gameplay, just like in mainline Kirby games. My hype for this game went from 0–100 real quick, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this game slowly surpasses Mario Kart World in sales and popularity, as it is a very fresh idea. I absolutely adore the Game Mode where you essentially play Elden Ring: Nightreign and then race with your collected Abilities. Expect a full written and video review when this gem releases.
Cronos: The New Dawn

Comming on: September 5, 2025
Well… I always wanted Dead Space on the Switch, but this genuinely looks so much better. The Graphics look top notch, the Gameplay with the time traveling looks amazing, plus the atmosphere just hits that dark sci-fi spot in my brain that not many games can. And yet again, it is a day one release, cross-platform, which finally includes Nintendo Switch 2 with the whole crowd. I really can’t wait to play this one.
Little Nightmares III

Comming on: October 10, 2025
The horror continues with the latest Little Nightmares game. There really isn’t much to say. Both games were spectacular, making my stomach churn and giving me huge clumps in my throat. This is environmental horror at its peak. I’ll most likely wait a bit before picking this game up, as I really want to replay the older ones before getting into this one. Overall, the hype is real!
Elden Ring – Tarnished Edition

Comming on: Q4 2025
Well, this is it… this is the end. Man, I really can’t wait to replay Elden Ring on my Nintendo Switch 2, but I’m not too hopeful, as the reviews of the Demo version are very poor; it runs very poorly, which is strange to me, as on Steam Deck it runs perfectly well at 800p, medium-high, 40 FPS lock. So in theory, the Switch 2 could achieve 60 FPS at medium-high, 900p upscaled to 1080p. I really hope they rework and reoptimize the game on this majestic console.
Conclusion
This year still seems to be jam-packed with a ton of different games for this lovely system. I’m very excited to play and review these awesome games. I hope you all enjoyed this Top 10 Blog, and if you have a different opinion, please feel free to leave it in the comments. This has been AltModeStudios signing out!
